Groomsmen and Best Man Gifts: Ideas They Will Actually Use

Oct 13, 20264 min read

By Oswin Hyde · Last updated 13 October 2026

The short answer: the best groomsmen and best man gifts are things they will use long after the wedding: cufflinks or a silk tie to wear on the day, a leather card holder or wallet, or a sock gift box. Cufflinks start from £19, three-pair sock boxes are £25, and leather card holders start from £39. Most of our accessories come in a gift box, so they are ready to hand over. Give the best man something a little more special, such as a leather wallet, a passport holder or an umbrella engraved with his initials.

Gifts they can wear on the wedding day

A gift worn on the day does double duty: it thanks your groomsmen and makes the wedding party look coordinated in the photos.

  • Cufflinks: give every groomsman the same pair, or the same design in a different colour for the best man. Crystal and coloured stone designs such as Fitz Emerald or Zirc Ruby can pick up the wedding colours. Every pair has a swivel bar fastening and comes in a gift box. See all cufflinks.
  • Ties and pocket squares: matching ties in the wedding colour, such as navy, green, burgundy or pink, with a silk pocket square. For a black tie wedding, see our bow ties.
  • Socks: a pair of patterned socks to wear on the day is a fun touch, especially for photos of the groomsmen sitting down. See our sock gift boxes.

Plan these gifts at least a few weeks ahead so you can hand them out before the wedding, not on the morning. Our wedding shoes guide and cufflinks guide cover the rest of the look.

Gifts they will use every day

Best man gifts

The best man usually gets something a step up from the groomsmen, to thank him for the speech, the stag and the rings. Good choices:

  • A leather wallet and matching card holder in the same colour.
  • A leather passport holder, such as the Covent, for a best man who travels.
  • An umbrella with a wooden handle engraved with his initials, such as the windproof Joseph Black.
  • The same cufflinks as the groomsmen in a different finish, so he stands out in the photos.
