Men's Derby shoes in full-grain crust leather and suede: open-laced shoes that give more room over the instep, from smart Derbies to brogues and patent. Free next-day click & collect on orders over £75.
Men's Derby shoes
Derby shoes have open lacing, with the eyelet tabs stitched on top of the shoe. That makes them easier to fit if you have a high instep, and a little more relaxed than Oxfords.
Smart Derbies for work and weddings: Edison Full Black, Keyon Black, Keyon Brown, Miles Black and Edison Tan.
Derby brogues: Miller Tan, Gordon Tan and Gordon Black.
For black tie: Edison Black Patent.
Derby-style trainers: Stan Cognac and Stan Brown.
How our shoes are made
Leather pairs are cut from full-grain crust leather with no surface coating or printed grain, lined in lambskin or sheepskin, with a padded insole. Soles are cemented rather than stitched, so they are light and need little breaking in. See how our shoes are made.
Frequently asked questions
Are Derby shoes formal?
A plain black or dark brown Derby works with a suit for business. For the most formal occasions, an Oxford is the sharper choice.
What is the difference between Derby and Oxford shoes?
Oxfords have closed lacing, with the eyelet tabs stitched under the front of the shoe, which gives a sleeker, more formal look. Derbies have open lacing, with the tabs stitched on top, so they are easier to fit and a little more relaxed. See our Oxford shoes.
Are Derby shoes good for wide feet?
Open lacing gives more room over the top of the foot, so Derbies often suit a high instep. For a wider fitting, see our wide fit shoes.
What sizes do you make?
Whole UK sizes: most styles come in UK 7 to 12 (EU 41 to 46), with selected styles in UK 13 and 14. Each product page shows which sizes are in stock, and our size guide has the measurements.
Is click & collect free and can I return items?
Click & collect is free on orders over £75, with next-day collection from over 7,000 DPD locations, and orders placed before 4 pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same day. To return something, tell us within 14 days of delivery and send it back within a further 14 days. See our returns page.
