The short answer: yes, you can wear suede in winter and even in light rain, as long as you treat it with a suede protector spray first, brush it regularly and let it dry naturally if it gets wet. Avoid heavy rain, slush and road salt where you can. If suede does get soaked, stuff it with paper, dry it at room temperature and brush the nap back up once dry.
