Joseph Blue Windproof Umbrella with Wooden Crook Handle

The Joseph Blue umbrella brings together a wide 112cm canopy and a 24-spoke, hand-linked fiberglass frame built on a "lotus close" design, so the ribs flex and recover in gusts instead of turning inside out. The canopy is cut from luxury 210T pongee fabric in a rich blue for a finish that looks as good as it performs, and every spoke tip is finished in brass for lasting detail. A hand-crafted wooden crook handle and an auto-open mechanism round out a long umbrella built for the daily commute, the golf course or a formal occasion.

Material

Our umbrellas are built to protect from winds as well as rain. However, they will not protect from strong gusts. Avoid using your umbrella in heavy winds, particularly in large open areas, by sea/river fronts and bridges. Wind damage is not covered by our warranty.

Avoid leaning on your umbrella and using it as a walking stick. Not only do you run the risk of snapping the shaft in half but repeatedly hitting the umbrella on the ground can eventually collapse and dismantle the frame.

Always leave your umbrella open to dry to allow the fabric and materials to breathe. This will also prevent any potential rusting of metal parts.

Leave your umbrella open to dry away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

Keep away from radiators and hot places to prevent warping especially during the summer months. Avoid leaving in the back of your car.

Take time to neatly fold & unfold to keep your umbrella looking new and prevent stretching / tearing off of the fastener.

Clean only with plain water, as cleaning subtances could remove proofing coatings.

If you own one of our Telescopic Umbrellas, always carry it by the body when closed, not the handle. Swinging and Extending the shaft by throwing it open can potentially separate the sections of the shaft. Emulating a cricket bat or golf club is also bad for its health.

I’ve not used this Umbrella in anger yet but the quality appears superb. I’m guessing from the sturdy construction, this will be fit for a force 7 storm whilst not too cumbersome in size and weight. Looks elegant, would highly recommend.
